1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Crankd ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms apply to all users of Crankd, operated by Vortra LLC ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Use of the Service

Crankd is a mobile cycling application that allows you to record rides, track component wear, and receive AI-powered ride analysis (Crankd Coach, part of Crankd Pro). The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Crankd. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Safety notice: Crankd is a supplementary tool and should not be used as your primary navigation device or relied upon for safety-critical decisions. Always follow applicable traffic laws and ride safely. Do not use your device in a way that distracts you while cycling.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at support@vortraapp.com. We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorized use of your account.

You may delete your account at any time from within the app under Profile → Delete Account. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems. Some information may be retained where necessary for legal, financial, security, or fraud-prevention purposes, or temporarily as part of routine backup cycles, after which it is deleted.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Crankd is free to use. Crankd Pro is an optional paid subscription, sold through the Apple App Store.

• Plans and prices: Crankd Pro costs $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year in the United States. In other countries the price is set in local currency, and the app shows your price before you buy. Taxes may apply.
• Free trial: Both plans include a 1-month free trial for new subscribers. Apple decides eligibility, generally one free trial per Apple ID. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically when the trial ends and your Apple ID is charged the plan's price. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, any unused part of the trial ends.
• Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase or, if you start with a free trial, when the trial ends. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.
• Renewals: Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Cancellation: You can cancel at any time in your iPhone's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or in Crankd under Profile → Manage Subscription. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Crankd Pro until the end of the current billing period or free trial.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple according to their policies. We do not issue refunds directly.
• Price changes: If the price of your plan changes, Apple will notify you in advance and, where required, ask for your agreement before charging the new price.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of ride data, routes, and other content you create using Crankd. By using the App, you grant Vortra LLC a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the service to you.

6. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
• Use automated means to access the App or its backend services
• Interfere with or disrupt the App or its servers
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Upload malicious code or content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data

7. Third-Party Services

Crankd uses third-party services including Firebase (Google), Apple (the App Store, Apple Health, Apple WeatherKit, and Apple's push notification service), Mapbox, Google Maps Platform (static route maps and share cards), and Anthropic (Crankd Coach). Your use of the App is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these providers. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services.

8. Disclaimers

Crankd is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific requirements.

GPS accuracy may vary depending on your device, location, and environmental conditions. Ride data recorded by the App should be considered approximate.

AI-generated ride analysis (Crankd Coach) is provided for informational purposes only and should not be considered professional athletic or medical advice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vortra LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, personal injury, or property damage related to cycling activities.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Maricopa County, Arizona.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When they change, we'll update this page and its date. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Apple App Store — Licensed Application EULA

Crankd is licensed, not sold, to you. Where Crankd is obtained through the Apple App Store, your license to use the app is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), which Vortra LLC has adopted as the end-user license agreement for Crankd. These Terms do not replace the Standard EULA; they govern the Crankd service — your account, subscription, content, and use of the service — and apply alongside it. If these Terms conflict with the Standard EULA regarding the license to the app itself, the Standard EULA prevails.

As described in the Standard EULA, this agreement is between you and Vortra LLC only, not Apple Inc. Vortra LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for Crankd, its content, maintenance and support, and for addressing any claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the Standard EULA and may enforce it against you.
